Forum topic
A forum topic is the initial post to a new discussion thread within a forum.
Image
An image (with thumbnail). This is ideal for publishing photographs or screenshots.
Third Party Image
An image URL entered here will be automatically parsed and displayed. When displayed as a full "node", it will be the largest image size. On the video listing page, it will be displayed as a smaller thumbnail. The content type itself uses a field created with Embedded Media Field. When administering that field, you are able to check off which providers are allowed. This particular example allows all providers, but you can easily limit those to, say, Flickr or Photobucket. You can just paste the URL of the image in that field, and the module will automatically fetch the image and thumbnail as appropriate.

A video URL entered here will be automatically parsed and displayed. When displayed as a full "node", it will be the largest video size. On the video listing page, it will be displayed as an image thumbnail, and as a smaller "preview" size in the featured section when the user hovers the mouse over the thumbnail. The content type itself uses a field created with Embedded Media Field. When administering that field, you are able to check off which providers are allowed. This particular example allows all providers, but you can easily limit those to, say, YouTube and Blip.TV. You can just paste the URL of the video in that field, and the module will automatically fetch the video and thumbnail as appropriate. Additionally, you can override the thumbnail with your own custom thumbnail.
